Welcome to ced magic! Very cool to see someone from France using ced players! I see you have an NTSC and a PAL player! What one do you like more?
Don't worry about language barrier, google translate can help a lot! |
thank you for the welcome
I like NTSC player (rca sjt300).I would like to have more ced disc but postal charge for France is too expensive. I only have 10 ced disc.
Do you know a store that sells ced abroad? |

I am into my 3'rd month of my 69'th year.
I bought my first player (a 934.54780150) in Aug. 1983 at a Sears store in Binghamton, NY. My first CED was Time Bandits which my mother loved to watch over and over.
After the announcement that CED was dead, I bought a new stylus for the player in 1987 for the shocking price of $90. Fortunately, the player has not needed the stylus yet.
My signature below lists the players that I have. _________________ Sears 934.54780150 & 934.54810350

I'm 35. Been into CED for about 10 years now.
Can't explain what got me into it. I swear a family member had a player back in the day but nobody seems to remember who. It all seems so familiar, with the caddy and loading system. Somebody had one.
I wanted to get into Laserdisc stuff too, but don't really have the room and prices for a lot of that stuff is heading into the stratosphere. |

Okay, I surrender...I'll be 51 at the end of June, God willing, and I got to CEDs last. records, CDs, cassettes, reel to reel and a ton of eight tracks (blanks too) and laserdiscs then Beta came before CED.
I just dig making 'obsolete' stuff play. My ragtag fleet of computers is only missing Commander Adama. _________________ A New Vista of RCA Victor COLOR! |

I'm 62 now and recently retired so I have more time to fiddle around with this stuff. I seem to be a fan of older AV technology, still have and use my original 1984 Toshiba Hi Fi Beta vcr. Like CED players it needed new belts and rubber throughout the years. Still have a working 8 Track player being fed by Goodwill 8 Track tapes.
Anywho...though the last 15 years or so I've picked up about 14 players of which I still own 12. Probably 10 still work and the other two are parts machines. Probably have about 800 discs or so...most acquired in bulk collection buyouts.
My day to day players are a SJT and SKT 400's. I remember picking up the SKT400 (boxed) at a video game collectors meeting years ago.
Also have a SGT250 and 200 hooked up to other TVs in the house.
I love this format as I can really appreciate the engineering feat that went into it. My wife though won't sit still to watch a movie in this format if it skips. in fact she does a excellent impression of a skipping disc..... |
