To those looking for a vintage front projector TV set: On one of our regular trips around the thrift stores, we came upon a very nice Mitsubishi front projector TV in working condition at a Los Angeles thrift store today (Thurs, 3-15) available for $200. Looks like it's a model VS-502B, VS means Video Scan and we guessed 50 means 50 inches diagonally as it seems about that size. The unit is in really nice cosmetic shape and the screen looks to be in very good condition too. It is working, image is fine, surprisingly clear and visible, for being in a lighted area, but the folks there didn't have the tuner set properly, nor the color crossbar aligned. They have the remote, but keep it in a safe place so it doesn't get taken. Looks like it was a donation from an original owner, or an estate of an original owner who took care of it. Not an RCA, but we all thought it looked better than any other front projector TVs we ever saw! It has the RF input and two separate video with stereo audio inputs, no S-video, but nice stereo sound. A great item for a vintage collector, as we passed on it since we have a 50" Mitsu rear projector and Pioneer Elite widescreen. If you are interested and local, here's where to find it: St Vincent de Paul Thrift Shop, 210 N Ave 21, Los Angeles, CA, 90031, ph: 323-224-6280. They will deliver locally for about $35. Hope a CED collector gets a chance at this nice item.

Here's an auction for a Hitachi CT5011 located in Tarzana, CA:

Except for some styling changes, the CT5011 is identical to the RCA PRF100, as Hitachi was the OEM for RCA's front projection TVs as well as some of their other products:
