I've put up a page describing the discovery of a select few remotes from the mid 1990s that are capable of controlling the SGT250 and SJT300 CED players when a LaserDisc code is programmed into the unit:

This discovery is actually a lot better than it sounds, as you don't have to find one of these old remotes to control your SGT250. These remotes were made by One For All and contain a JP1 connector that has allowed the SGT250/SJT300 code (referenced as LD/0128) to be extracted and saved as a JP1 code file. This means the code can be uploaded into any of the modern remotes that have a JP1 interface, including the stylish and revolutionary One For All Kameleon:

And you don't have to learn anything about the JP1 interface to get a remote to control your SGT250 or SJT300. That's because Rob Crowe at the HiFi Remote site has graciously agreed to sell JP1 remotes with the CED code pre-installed:

There is also a code available for the PAL/UK Hitachi VIP201P CED player.
