|
|
I've put up a group and map called CEDers at the Frappr site for CED collectors to mark their locations on:
http://www.frappr.com/ceders
If you're not familiar with Frappr, it's the web equivalent of a wall map of North America with the location of individual CED collectors marked with a colored pin. If enough people mark their locations, you may discover there is another collector nearby by seeing a pin (marker) right next to yours. The marker can then be clicked on to private message its owner. This may be useful to trade discs locally instead of going to the expense and possible damage of shipping.
To mark yourself on the map go to the above page and enter your name, email, and location under the "Add To Map" section. The location can be just your zip code, as Frappr has those referenced in its database.

This is awesome! Nice work Tom! Would be great to chat with others "live". Might also be able to help someone with player/disc problems using the chat room. This is way too cool! I advise those who collect CEDs to join Frappr Maps. |

In the week since the map went up, Frappr has improved their map technology which is now similar to Google Maps. You now have a choice of regular maps or satellite views, and the maps can be zoomed to the street level - useful to distinguish markers that appear right on top of one another:

I'm on frappr. However I am the only one listed in my state. And there are seven states around me that are empty! I guess I am all alone in my little corner of the universe. |
