Have you literally removed the cartridge? Have you tried cleaning the tip of the stylus? Sounds like either the stylus needs to be cleaned or replaced. Is your model the SFT-100/SGT-100 or SJT-100?

The stylus cannot find a groove on your discs. From experience, I've found out that the stylus, from "years" of use, likes to collect dust as a hobby. This dust can get to the point that you can literally call it a hairball. You will have to remove the stylus cartridge from the pick-up arm assembly for further inspection. You can gently clean the tip with a q-tip dipped in alchohol. If after cleaning the tip it still won't play, then I suggest a replacement cartridge.

Hope that this helps!

Keep those CEDs Playing!
