Don't know if anyone else has stumbled across this. Someone posted some old Sears Wishbooks in Flickr.

I don't think CED pops up anywhere else, but found that kind of interesting. (Nice front projection TV also.)

Cool! I love old ads, brings back all the memories of X-mas wish lists that I made from those catalogs.

I'd like to see one of the catalogs that showed all the videodisc titles they had for order. I remember marking the ones I wanted, hoping my parents would get a player but to no avail. Little did anyone know that by 2005 I would have EVERY videodisc title! Very Happy

I had one of those projection TVs for 20 years - and it worked great with CED's.

This is a neat advertisement! Can any one identify which Sears CED player is shown here? I have seen old console televisions like the ones here, but I have never seen a projection television like it. I am surprised there is no VCR in this advertisement.

That looks like the 934.54810350 player based on the 6 control buttons. I have such a player and it does work very well.

I couldn't find one in the '82 Wish Book, but I found this on page 428 of the 1981 Wish Book (sorry for the crappy picture):

Does any one know what "400 ALL" means? It is in the lower-left-hand corner of the big picture above, right next to the player & discs.

Pretty sure that's the page number and ALL means all versions of the catalog, as there would be regional variants or seasonal catalogs.

Way too cool. I had no idea they had living room projectors back then.

We had a two-CRT Sony model almost exactly like that in the cafeteria of our community college for over 30 years.

I love those old projection TVs. They just look so much cooler than the rear-projection models.
