SJT 400 found a small broken part near the front right side of the player. This broken piece was preventing the stylus carrier from fully retracting which in turn prevented a disc from being loaded. I don't know where this part came from nor what it's function is. It is a formed plastic part about 7/8 inch long triangularly shaped , with a small cylindrical post about 5/16 long and at a right angle to the main triangular body, the post is at the tip of the triangualar body. The back of the triangular body looks as if it was broken off from something. |

Don:
This sounds like it might be a spacer, but it's hard to say without actually seeing the item. The Dragon's Lair Project has a PDF of the SJT400 service manual on their NFL Football Tech Center page, so you could try downloding that and comparing your part to the exploded diagrams:
http://www.dragons-lair-project.com/tech/pages/nfl.asp
The exploded diagrams showing all the mechanical parts of the player start on page 64 of the manual.
