Does anyone know why an sjt-400 wont power on?
Is it a simple swap of parts from another 400 or a J/K player?
Is there a way to back track to see what part it could be, if its not multiple part failure?

Might be a fuse if it doesn't power on at all. Most of the mechanical parts in that series of players seem interchangeable.

I tried the fuse from a working sjt-090 and it didn't work. Sadly I think its out of my range technology and tool wise

| I imagine you could use a multi-meter or similar continuity checking tool to see where the power stops flowing through the player. I don't know for sure though, but it seems feasible. |

I have been told to try that by cedatum, but I just have no idea what to check.
* forgot to say I have to go buy a multimeter first haha!
