Hello All:

I noticed that Dollar Tree stores are selling these DVD's of animated classics for $1 each, a pretty good price, as Amazon is selling the same titles for $10. These come from Digital Versatile Disc Ltd., and are rather well done with a DVD menu and both DTS and Dolby 5:1 soundtracks.

The DVD animation originated at Burbank Films in Australia in the early 1980's, the same firm that provided two CED titles (via Vestron) - A Christmas Carol and David Copperfield, although these two aren't available at Dollar Tree, apparently having previously been licensed.

The 25 titles at Dollar Tree were all produced by DVD, Ltd. and can be identified on the above web site by the red DTS logo at the top center of each DVD keepcase:

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Alice in Wonderland
Around the World in 80 Days
Black Arrow
Black Beauty
Don Quixote
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Hercules
Hunchback of Notre Dame, The
Ivanhoe
Kidnapped
King Solomon's Mines
Last of the Mohicans, The
Legend of Hiawatha, The
Man in the Iron Mask, The
Odyssey, The
Peter Pan
Prisoner of Zenda
Rob Roy
Robin Hood
Three Musketeers, The
Tom Sawyer
Treasure Island
Westward Ho
Wind in the Willows

Dollar Tree keeps these discs in the cash register area, and you can search for stores in your area at their web site:

I had to visit two stores to find all 25 titles.
