I'm working on lubricating the turntable shift and thrust plate section. But for some reason I can't left up and remove the platter. Nothing is in the way and I've watched a video of it being done but mine it gets stuck. Do I need to pull up harder on the platter or am I missing something? |

can you post the link to the video? don't have to have it play on here, the link is fine for me. Seems like you advance the 3rd reduction gear by hand so that rod drops down and you can then rotate the TT and at certain points in the rotation you lift it up and out? There is a rod that gets in the way when you lift the TT about an inch or 2,seems like I've seen people removing the rod but I just sort of pull on mine and continue to lift the TT. Seems like I only need to move that rod like a 16th of an inch or so. |

Yes just push the rod slightly out of the way and continue to lift up. |

I don't know if that's the posters problem? I was trying to remeber what goes on with the platter? if you manually rotate the platter one turn aren't there times when you can lift the platter and other points it can't be lifted? After I posted I started thinking it can't be the rod needing to be moved ever so slightly, but maybe that is it. I must be lazy because I have an open 300 i could walk to right now in about 10 steps, but I guess we'll have to wait to hear from the poster. |

You would be correct. You have to push down the rod that's under the platter and rotate the platter so it's over the rod. Then it will lift up. |
