I have an Invintory of 9 Hitachi style stylus cartridges. I can identify 5 of them (assuming their box labels are correct.) The remaining 4 I am uncertain about. The 4 came in packages with no identifying label or with completely wrong labels.

The 4 styli have serial numbers:

G32C16A
G43D15A
G42E19A
G53D??? (this one is very hard to read)

If anyone can identify what models of players they may fit, I would greatly appreciate the info.

Is there any difference between a mono stylus and a stereo stylus? I have a CTG100 stylus which is listed for the Hitachi VIP1000 player and a CTG200 stylus which is listed for the Hitachi VIP2000 player. The VIP1000 is a mono player and the VIP2000 is a stereo player and yet the CTG100 stylus will fit and play in the VIP2000 player.

I have a VIP1000 player (with a mono stylus) with its matrixed audio being fed into an STA300 Video disc stereo adapter. The sound is decoded by the adapter and sounds very good to me.

(None of my Hitachi styluses have been cleaned or tested by Cedatum yet. Some day, I will send them in.)

As far as Hitachi styli go, yes there is a mono and a stereo but any Hitachi styli will work in any Hitachi player, or Realistic, or Sears players. The only difference between the mono and the stereo is the stereo one has some kind of sound dampner on it, which just looks like a little orange ball on the ribbon I believe. Hope this helps.

Also CEDatum does not service Hitachi styli in any way. He may be able to check them for functionality but beyond checking if they work or not he can't do anything else with them.
