CED VideoDisc and Player Discussion

I didn't bother to search but it seems like someone had said they were getting a converter and was going to open it up to see what was in it??? Or I may have just dreamed it??? Does anyone know what is in it? I'm wondering if it's something like the seperate stereo board inside the f/g units where it may be possible to somehow adapt the f/g stereo board to the toshiba wards players??

I have an STR300 adapter that I was going to open up. However, the metal box appears to have no easy way to open it without destroying it. If I had another adapter, I might be willing to sacrifice one of the two. I just look at my STR300 and I cannot muster up the courage to open it.

If you have a copy of "Complete Guide to Laser/Videdisc Player Troubleshooting and Repair" , you will find a chapter on "Typical CED Player Circuits". It is chapter 4 starting on page 154. The section on Stereo Processing is section 4-4.4 on page 184. The book refers to schematics for the Hitachi VIP2000 player. I know this is not for the STR300 or DSA100; but, it is a start.

I was wondering if the schematic for the Realistic CED-1 player would be any help. This schematic seems to be available. I know as I have one.
