I started collecting vinyl about a month ago and I picked up a big box of records for about 20 bucks and about 10 of them were the old 78 and I noticed that some of them had a bronze played at Nipper dog with his master's voice written underneath I then found out that RCA records awarded that if you sold 500,000 records , just thought I would share that with everyone _________________ Over 800 ceds and always looking for more ! |

Are you perhaps hinting at the beginning of the 'gold record'? 500,000 copies was a lot during the 78 age. _________________ A New Vista of RCA Victor COLOR! |

I just found what I was talking about ;". In the 1970s, the statue of the dog and gramophone, His Master's Voice, were cloaked in bronze and was awarded by the record company (EMI) to artists or music producers or composers as a music award and often only after selling more than 100,000 sound carriers such as LPs. _________________ Over 800 ceds and always looking for more ! |
