Hi,

I have two CED players, a RCA SGT-250 and a SJT-400 that have developed the same issue. On both players the audio video connectors no longer work. However, both players still work when hooked with coax. Does anyone know what would cause this and how to fix it?

Thanks.

I think you initially have video and audio that goes to the rf modulator or it goes over to the stereo portion of the circuit and that's where the stuff happens to produce the stereo signal and doing things to make a composite video output. My guess would be something or more than one something has gone bad in that stereo portion of the circuit. The G series that is the pw4000 board the j series everything is on one board and I'm not sure how that is labeled. maybe just 4000 numbered components. Look thru the service manuals for the players at the troubleshooting. I just replaced audio demodulator chips in a couple of my players and was told the earlier chips were more prone top failure so that would apply more towards the g series. I havn't needed to work on the boards of my j series so I'm not real "up" on their layout and what not.

did you try another set of RCA cables first? sometimes they just have to be replaced as weird as it sounds...
