|
|
| My poor poor Zenith CED player after 35 years almost has died finally. The belts and 99% of the components are fine but the motor that drives the stylus arm is dead it seems, because it will spin the disc and is able to transmit signal to the TV, but the stylus will not move up or down the disc, so it's unable to play the disc. It doesn't even attempt to move, I press fast forward or pause or rewind and it does nothing. No movement whatsoever. It will move if I manually spin the gear that is connected to the stylus arm, but the motor will not engage. Can anyone help me? The motor is a canon seiki with the number 2870801-1 on it. |

sounds like the stylus arm may have a broken wire in it _________________ Sears 274 & 934(80150,10&11350),sft100,sgt250,sjt090,100,101,200,300,400,vp550, VP4000!

[The 2870801-1 is the stylus arm gearbox drive motor. Check that voltage is getting to the motor.
Connect a multimeter to the 2 motor terminals and set the meter to the 20 DCV range.
Load a disc in the player. The motor and gearbox should move the stylus arm to the start of play position. Approx 16 - 18 VDC is applied for a few seconds to drive the gearbox. Check if this voltage is on the motor.
If the voltage is on the motor and it does not turn, then you may have bad motor. CEDatum stocks this motor. |
