Does anyone have service manuals for any CED players? I think that such SM's should be scanned and posted on the Laserdisc forum site. In case you do not know, the LD forum (lddb.com) has a small section for the CED hobbyists. This is the reason that they were so kind as to post the SM's for the SJT CED players. Any scanned SM's would be posted here:

http://www.lddb.com/_misc/manuals/CED_Players/

All you or I would have to do is send the pdf's to manual@lddb.com and Julien (the site admin) would add them to the above URL.

What do you think? Any SM's for the Elmo to the Zenith players would be helpful.

i have a majority of the service manuals i dont have any of the elmo chassis manuals, but i have the zenith books, most of the j/k line, the specific sft-100 book, sgt250, also i have the sanyo vdr3000 book. apparently there is already a pdf for the two different sears chassis as well.

Man, you are the person with the goods! Do you have any plans on scanning any of the manuals so they can be posted?

I would be interested in the Sears manuals as I have a 934.54780150 and a 934.54810350 and would like the ability to reference a manual for them just in case.

I don't think that I will have the money to buy the above manual this month. Maybe, next month.

I wonder what the analogalley would do if I bought the pdf and posted it on lddb.com for all to download for free. I would not think that they would have a copyright on it.

That is a good idea. The listing says that they have a hardcopy that they would sell. Good luck on that.

Wasn't I under the impression that analogalley was possibly for sale or closing at some point in the last 3 years?

That beats the "you know what" out of me.

It would be nice if Tom could find a way to make a section of his site like that of LDDB where users could upload their collections. This would be a great way to see what titles are most common, what titles are rare, people could post weather their titles are for sale, one could easily search for titles. Plug a barcode scanner into the computer, or better yet make a call phone app so we could use the camera as a barcode scanner, then just scan your whole collection into your account. The LDDB website has a great thing going but for some reason it feels wrong to go to a Laserdisc website to post CED collections and find CED player manuals. That stuff should all be on Tom's site for CED.

I think that CED info and technical support are great anywhere you can find it. The owner of LDDB has done an incredible job for LD users and he also has excellent links to other sites.

Not everyone will find us immediately, even for something like CEDs. Links and info elsewhere will inevitably lead people here.

I would thank them for the assist!

Some time ago, I was on the lddb website and noticed that the site would accept manuals for LD players. That is when I sent Julien (site admin) the manual that I had scanned for the SJT-100/101/200/300 players and asked him if he would post it. It took some weeks; but, he sent me an e-mail thanking me for the pdf and that he was working on posting it. Then, he sent me an e-mail that the manual was posted. My main concern was that the manual should get posted so as to prevent its lost should something happen to it on my end.

I know it is strange to post a CED manual on a laserdisc website. I don't know why Tom does not have a place for the manuals.

Maybe, our postings will spur him into action?
