Brand new to this and getting my feet wet. When I load disc into the player I picked up the player takes the disc just fine but when you switch the lever to play the screen just runs from 1-50 in two seconds and then reads E. Obviously not what is supposed to happen. Any words of advice? Is this common? Is she a goner . I got 200 movies and the player for $40 and was planning to upgrade players but just seeing if this one will be usable. |

| As the old topic stated, I agree that it sounds like a problem in the arm assembly. My current player was doing that and a replacement arm fixed it. However, I've also seen players do that if the servo balance adjustment is off too far. Even with the replacement arm, I have to adjust that every couple of years (maybe because of aging capacitors; hopefully not because the arm I have in it is going bad). I've also seen this occur if the little L-shaped antennas in the arm, which sit where the stylus tip goes, get bent. If this is the case and you're careful enough, you can straighten those enough that fine tuning the servo balance will get it working again. |
