This machine was working but kept on blowing fuses so i continued to test until i found the problem its a recifier that is no longer made. I cannot find one at all any place on earth so if someone needs some parts out of this i know everything else was working until the recifier started smoking.
I also ordered about 20 fuses for the thing which i will no longer need when i get them and the stylus is already gone i never had one with it. So if you would like the fuses and or parts let me know. I do not have to ship the entire thing so you can save on shipping. I will not charge anything for the parts it just seems a shame everything inside looks 100% brand new.

Thank you for the reply i figured out what it was and it was discontinued long ago. They dont even make anything that would work in its place so looks like im going to be throwing the hitachi away. Its a shame its got to go considering it looks brand new and even has the box |

Is there any chance that someone may have a parts machine that you could salvage the PCB from? The internal PCB's of the VIP1000 are probably the same as the Sears 934-54780150 and the other Hitachi monaural clones. _________________ Sears 934.54780150 & 934.54810350

Whether hamerly26 repairs his player or sells it to repair anther player is up to him. My concern it to keep as many players working as possible as they are an endangered video species and any conservation we can do to save them is a worthy effort IMHO. _________________ Sears 934.54780150 & 934.54810350

if anyone wants it and thinks they can fix it they can have it. I would end up having to ship it though and that does cost a bit. If anyone is interested in it i will put it on ebay for a buy it now of $4 and shipping just to cover ebay fees. I did have it powered on before the diode started smoking. I was hoping to be able to replace it but like i said i cannot find one and i tried every place i could find including CEDatum.
I can post some pictures of it if anyone wants to see it or would want it for free minus shipping like i said.
Or if someone would like certain parts out of it i could remove them and ship the parts cheap i imagine.
WILL BE IN THE DUMPSTER AT THE END OF TODAY IF NO ONE WANTS ANYTHING FROM IT. 8/25/2015 |

I would like to have it, provided that it's within driving distance.
What state?
Or, I have a VIP-2000R for parts. Its power supply is okay, so you may be able to salvage a rectifier off of it to restore your VIP-1000.
Here's hoping your machine didn't get tossed...
