It's the Radio Shack connection. Everyone is trying to make a killing of the death of the old Radio Shack.
No pun intended. The real shame is that they tagged LD to it and somebody might get confused if they've never heard of CED. Not helping them to do that.
PS I've corrected a few of these little mixups lately concerning LD and CED. _________________ A New Vista of RCA Victor COLOR!

Now, they do have the right to sell for whatever price they want, whether or not it's accepted, and that is the fulfillment of capitalism, no?
Wrote them.

CEDs are Capacitance Electronic Discs, essentially a very sophisticated type of RECORD type disc, read by a needle. There is not a laser type read head in them and therefore they are incapable of playing them.
If you tag the auction title with an incompatible system's name you may cause confusion with those who are not aware of CED. The format lasted for only a few short years, 1981-86 and Laserdisc was around from the later 1970s to 2001, with legacy players produced by Pioneer until 2009.
CED is also not to be confused with the Japanese VHD discs which were similar but also not compatible.
They are not always easy to find parts for and may present problems to buyers they were not aware of. I'm offering this information to help you avoid any problems in your sale efforts, not to be critical.
If you need to find more information about CED, a great place to go is the CED Magic website and it's forums.
Thank you for selling on eBay and best of sales! |

The price has dropped from $500 to $300 and includes the remote control. The seller says that 4 lazerdisc (sic) movies are included with the player. Most generous (lol). _________________ Sears 934.54780150 & 934.54810350

Hey guys, I know that...he told me that he was going to and he based it on another auction so I gather.
I also gave him CED Magic and it's forums for a resource, so we might be a little less ridiculing and just let it go. You can sell for whatever price you like for items allowed on eBay. The determining factor has ALWAYS been the buyer's desire to pay that.
I also pointed out the difference between LD and CED. Not much more I could do honestly. _________________ A New Vista of RCA Victor COLOR! |
