Hi Everyone,

I've had an older model player and quite a few popular movies for a while, and I've bought a few movies over the years, but I feel like I made a really good find this weekend. This sale had literally thousands of DVD's, thousands of laser discs, thousands of Blu Ray's, and thousands of records. I'd say 90% of the movies were still sealed. Along with thousands of comic books.

They also had 86 CEDs and 2 players, which I ended up buying. The person was obviously an obsessive collector, so I feel like these are some good titles. What do you all think? Any really rare titles that stand out? I included the condition. Most are sealed or look as though they were just taken out of the wrapper. There are a few doubles.

Totally. Even moreso since one of those players is an SJT-400 (even if it needs some work)!

The ELO and Rod Stewart discs would be on my wish list, I have a James Taylor concert on Laserdisc already (not the same one, I know, mine is the WGBH concert for PBS that ended up on LD around 1991?

You have a couple movies I am interested in purchasing if you would consider selling:

Playboy Video Magazine, Vol. 5* Sealed
Playboy Video, Vol. 2* Sealed

RCA 1984 Video Systems NM
RCA 1984 Video Systems Sealed

I know the last 2 are highly in demand but I would love to have one if you would like to sell. Would you have a price in mind? Thank you for your consideration!

I own the entire line up of the 1984 Video System, the Digital Command Center TV, the SJT-400 CED Player, the VJP-900 VCR, the Video camera, as well as the MSR-130 Stereo Receiver and SPK-100 Speakers. I'd love to get that Sealed 1984 Video Systems Disc to go with it all. I know it can be difficult to price and item, specially when multiple people want it. I find the best way is just put it on ebay and let everyone know, that way everyone has an equal shot at it and it sells for what it's really worth to someone. Just a suggestion as it's yours to do as you please. You do also have quite a few other discs I would love to buy, like some of those sealed promo discs, sealed playboy discs, etc. I could email you a full list of all the ones I'm interested in if you would like. Thanks.

ramsejp: Something you may not be aware of is that PMs are turned off on these boards.

If you were hoping to sell any of these discs you will need to use the email button *if it's there they have chosen to allow that link, and some members list their email address in their signatures as a default.

The reasoning for this is that since the board email goes through the owner and allows you to respond to him if you think it's spam or inappropriate he can suspend that person's email privileges or take action to ban a spammer.

You can either enable the email option in your profile or provide it in the message body or signature.

Since making these lists can get everyone all excited about a certain title or three, if you wanted to sell them you should make these efforts and also note that we have two stickies at the top of General to list our items for sale or trade and such. If you are just telling us what you found and have no intent to sell, please do let us know...it will help you end any confusing frenzy Wink

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I thought there were some good discs.

My main reason for posting was really just to see if the find was as good as I'd hoped. I didn't intend to solicit offers, so I apologize.

That said, I really have no intention of trying to obtain all of the discs out there. I'm interested in a lot of them, but I'm definitely not opposed to selling some of them. Honestly, though, I haven't really thought about it. I've just been excited to look through them. I'd also really like to get the players working so I can view some of them, but that may take a little time. I've sent off for a new belt for the SJT-300 but I'm not sure what the problem is with the audio on the SJT-400.

Anyway, I will be selling some but I'm just not sure when it will be. So, if you there are ones you're interested in, just post in this thread and when I get a list of the ones I'll move together, I'll let you know.

Thanks again for looking. And it will help to let me know which ones even hold any value. As I'm sure some of these everyone already has.

Likewise, feel free to ask if there are titles you would like. We can no doubt help you as well as point out online sales to watch or even avoid. I already mentioned my interests.

And a belated WELCOME to CED Magic Forums!
