Hi,

Subject says it all! I found the repair titled "Worn Out or Missing Function Motor Drive Belt" at http://www.cedmagic.com/tech-info/repair-solutions.html#worn-out-or-seized-up-function-motor, but it is flagged as a fix for the SGT250.

Any advice appreciated. If it needs a new belt, a pointer to the correct part would also be appreciated.

Robert

hi there! most likely its the function belt in your case as well, but on the j models the gear sets are on the right hand side of the chassis in the front corner, you should need a phillips driver to undo the cage for the belt and pulleys, its a quick and easy job!

Thanks for the clarification. That makes sense now.

Can you point me to a part number for the belt that I need, and/or a web site where I can purchase one? Or perhaps they are available on eBay?

Nevermind, I see that I can get one with just a SASE http://www.cedmagic.com/home/products.html

Unless that service has been discontinued...?

This service is ongoing. And here are the steps to install the belt when you get it:
