|
|
Richard Sonnenfeldt published his memoirs titled "More than one Life" last year, and he has graciously permitted the chapter titled "Videodisk" to be hosted on-line here at CED Magic:
http://www.cedmagic.com/mem/richard-sonnenfeldt-book.html
Richard was Chief Interpreter at the Nuremberg Trials following World War II and in the 1950's was instrumental in bringing RCA's color television system to market. From 1974 through 1978 he was RCA Vice President in charge of the VideoDisc project.
His memoirs provide a frank look at the Rockefeller Center management of RCA that is only lightly covered in the book "RCA and the VideoDisc."

Very good, and detailed article. Just think how different things would be if RCA had of been ready 5 years before the launch. I personally believe they could of MADE 600 million. _________________ SGT-250

Yup! Even w/ the delays, if he was kept on as head of strategy, they would've made up the much smaller losses with the VHS tape licenses! |
