I have noticed something on my RCA model SFT100W CED player: For the last few days, I have been watching my CEDs on it, and there is static in the picture, kind of like small silver "specks" in the picture. It is doing the same thing on many different discs I have played. I am wondering if the problem is a worn-out needle or discs. Perhaps it could be some other problem. The needle is model number 149000.

its very possible, how many movies do you watch in a given time, and are most of them ones previously unwatched or bought from someone else?

I usually watch either 1 or 2 movies per day; however, it is the same needle which has been with the player since I bought it a few years ago. I am also interested in attempting to work on my CED player myself, which I have never done before.

Most of my CEDs are used, either from thrift stores or online sales; I think they have been watched by other people before I bought them. I do not own any sealed discs, and some of them are discs I have owned for the last few years but never watched.
