I currently own 7 CED players. I have kept a SJT-SKT-400 player ever since I got back into the format 4 years ago. It seems to me I have had more problems with these players than the non auto loaders. Of the several 400 players I have had, 3 of them has had the problem where the picture "fades" into kind of blurry, and these "lines" form in the picture going left to right. Not distinct lines that cause the picture to be very fuzzy. I changed the stylus, and it seemed to clear it up for just a few minutes. Then the fuzzy picture comes back. This has happened in 3 players over the last couple of years. I said that to say this. I have NEVER had this problem with my SGT-200 or SGT-250. With this problem, and the fact that if there is any minor flaw in the spine, the player goes bonkers when trying to lad. I'm not complaining, I'm just curious if anyone else has had a problem like this? That said, even though the 400 models don't skip as much as the others, I am promoting my SGT-250 to the top of my list. I'll keep a 400 for the interactive discs. So what is your favorite player? _________________ 1000 titles

| I have only used a few CED players, all of which are monaural players. I am somewhat of a purist & would have to say that I like the RCA SFT100W the best. Mine has never given me any problems, and I think it looks very nice. |

My current working player inventory is:
Sears 934.54780150
Sears 934.54810350
RCA SJT-200
RCA SJT-090
The Sears 934.....150 player I bought new in 1983. Up until a few years ago, it worked perfectly. In 2012, one of the internal belts broke (I don't remember which one) which necessitated belt replacements. This player's only shortcoming is no stereo sound output, only mono.
The Sears 934....350 player is a recent addition to the "stable" and works very well. Its shortcoming is the lack of a jack on the player's front for the remote control which I have. The stereo sound is very good.
The RCA SJT-200 plays well and gives good stereo sound. I guess I prefer this player because it is the easiest in handling CED's. The caddy label is hardly touched by the player thus helping to preserve the label.
The RCA SJT-090 player is not used at all. It has only RF output which does not fit well with my AVR. It is in storage for now. _________________ Sears 934-54780150 & 934.54810350,

My favorite mono player is my Zenith VP2000. I love the woodgrain, the chrome and it plays excellent!
My favorite stereo player is my SGT-200. It's the best of both worlds; it's has a manual load, a lever instead of buttons, and is stereo.
I love my 400 series, but it's auto load which I've never been a fan of. _________________ 2 - RCA SFT-100
