So I was messing around in the garage and created this Frankenstein monster. I've always wanted to mod a player just for fun. Just to see if I could and how it would look. I grabbed this SJT100 off the shelf and got it up and running, just needed a new belt. Case said it was a SJT100 but the sticker inside says it's an SKT100. Either way, basic auto loader. Well I cut a rectangle out of the top lid using several methods. The grinding wheel basically just melts through the plastic but it's hard on the tool. The hack saw blade seemed to work the best but it was hard getting a straight line and the blade kept bending on me. But I managed to get it cut out. Then I placed the piece I cut out over the plexiglass and traced it. It was easy to cut with a circular saw, then used the chisel for some fine adjustments. Then I laid them flat on the workbench upside down and just hot glued it in. I was thinking of some kind of rubber gasket so it looked nicer but I thought this would be far easier and I was just screwing around anyhow. I picked up some LED's that are supposed to go on your car at WalMart, and hard wired it to the fuse board. Just found the point that was closest to 12v and soldered it on. So the LED comes on when the machine is turned on. I was thinking of installing a switch but didn't have one on hand and that's easy to add later if one wanted to. Well that's about it. I am still going to clean it up a little more then tape it off and paint the case too. Not sure how I want to paint it yet, I'm open to suggestions. Something that would compliment the blue LED. But I just wanted to share. Enjoy.

I remember buying diy chips that you could wire lights to, then hook up to your speakers. You could do that and have it strobe to the sound of whatever was playing.
