|
|
Hi all!
When i went to load Side 2 of a disc, my newly acquired player wouldn't extract the disc from the caddy. I tried reloading side 1, but no dice. I tried a second disc, and the same thing happened. I was told that I had to push the caddy in until it clicked - is there something I'm missing, or am I in trouble?
EDIT - the caddy will go all the way in, I hear a sort of click, but it doesn't extract. |

Update - it worked again after a few failed attempts, hopefully it was a fluke and I won't have to investigate further |

The system that lifts up the latches that grab the caddy are getting stuck.
It's a system of tension springs with latches and tabs on a shaft that runs the length of the player's back area. Sometimes the shaft gets stuck a bit where its supposed to roll. It needs cleaning and lube and that will probably make it all okay. |

Terrific, thanks so much for the info! Is there an advisable way for me to get at that mechanism? |
