After loading disc and flipping switch to play, stylus arm moves rapidly forward without even playing disc. What is the cause of that? |

Could be a defective stylus. Could be worn out, dirty or damaged.
Another possibility is that the stylus is hanging at an angle, and not straight, once the cart is inserted and the stylus is released from being help in place.
This can be seen if one lets the stylus hang in released posiniton and observing it to see if it is hanging at an angle.
If so, it can be put to stasight by a small turn of the lead wire rivet with tiny needlenose pliers. |
