It's Jewel of the Nile by CBS/Fox Video, if you don't count Memories of Videodisc. I have a still sealed copy.

Last Laserdisc released in USA was Bringing Out the Dead in 2000, which I have not yet found an affordable copy of, but I did get the next to last US released LD, Sleepy Hollow. Last Japanese LD was Tokyo Raiders in 2001. Several titles were released in Japan in 2001 that are pretty pricey, like Mission Impossible 2.

Last US studio/factory released VHS was The Fog, remake, in widescreen in 2006, a real stinker of a remake, but I still bought several copies at the 99 cents store some years ago just for the novelty. There are still VHS releases in some asian and third world markets today.

Imation (formerly 3M) was actually making custom laserdiscs at least through 2002. Sears kept using them for their instore program for quite a while, I have a couple from 2001 that include trailers for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, The Mummy Returns, Hardball and Joe Dirt, none of which were actually released on laserdisc. They're all with analog sound only, with no CX. I think the VERY last laserdisc made by them was a re-pressing of the Dragon's Lair arcade game disc with some extra scenes that weren't on the original disc, done for a group called the Dragon's Lair Project.

Yep, I should have clarified that I was talking about those factory/studio releases and not specialty releases.

There also have been a few bootleg LDs made in the past, mostly in Europe, pressed when the bosses had gone home and some enterprising techs stayed on.

Just to ask, when did Image Entertainment(?) get out of LDs?

They were HUGE into them for a long time. Laserdiscs probably made them into the kind of company they could be...

They stuck with it to the bitter end, though I don't know what their very last title was. (Might have been the Thomas Crown Affair remake, as that was MGM's last laserdisc title.) They picked up distribution for Warner right after DVD started and Warner wasn't too hot on doing laserdisc themselves anymore. Image started out in the early 80s putting out adult movies on laserdisc, then branched out into stuff from other smaller companies. I don't know how they managed to sell a lot of their stuff at the prices they charged- B-movies listed for $39.99 and ended up being sold for around $10 in Camelot Music's cutout bin.

Image and Criterion at the least seemed to be going for the niche market of the classic film buffs who wouldn't be satisfied with lesser transfers to videotape. They built on the specs of laserdisc and moved up to the enormously popular series of The Mind's Eye animation compilations and then they released the laserdisc that is my favorite of theirs (because it's of the award-winning special with so many of my favorite musicians and it's just awesome), Roy Orbison-A Black And White Night.

Looking over Wikipedia it looks like Image itself is now just a division of another company but it is still a major player.

Another company I like a lot that has a lot of music titles but no laserdisc history is Eagle Rock/Eagle Eye and their catalog was mindboggling the last time I looked.
