At the end of the "ENDLESS SUMMER" disc there are previews of some other movies.
The first one is... Fransis Ford Coppla presents KOYAANISQATSI the preview looks like something turned out - in a hurry - by a first year film student.
The title isn't listed... Is it some sort of joke???????
How many disc have previews or other information after the feature???

KOYAANISQATSI was released on CED, but only in the PAL/UK format. It's one of the rarest PAL/UK titles out there. This movie is interesting in that it was not officially re-released on home video until about a year ago due to legal wranglings. The early LaserDisc version of the movie used to sell for hundreds of dollars, although their value has plummeted with the inexpensive DVD being available.
There is some controversy surrounding the official MGM DVD, as it appears to be the victim of inverse letterboxing, where the original movie was 1.33:1 but the DVD is 1.85:1. This is a rare instance where the CED aspect ratio is right, and the widescreen DVD is wrong.

The Philip Glass Ensemble still regularly plays the score of this non-narrative film live with the film projected behind them. Sells out almost without fail. Currently they are appearing all over the globe doing the entire trilogy of films (Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, and Naqoyqatsi) live. The film has won multiple awards and the soundtrack is consistenly regarded as Glass' most accomplished score.
Can't speak for the preview, but I bet you're right - most trailers look like something turned out in a hurry by a first year film student. I'm willing to bet K. is no exception; it's not exactly the kind of film that you can market by editing together some sexy shots and funny one-liners from useless Hollywood star(let)s. |

Pacific Arts put most of the same previews on the end of "My Dinner With Andre", in fact the time counter on side 2 runs to about 62 minutes to accomodate them!
I'm trying to put together a list of CEDs that have previews on them- there weren't very many, but strangely many that do exist are of movies that never came out on CED. Children of the Corn is the only disc I've seen that has a preview before the movie, it's for "The Champions" which wasn't on CED, the preview says "Coming soon on videocassette" whatever that means
There's one I forget the name of at the end of Crimes Of Passion, but I'm pretty sure it was a title that didn't come out on CED either.
Network has about 3 MGM movie previews at the end, strange thing about that disc is that the movie was already time-compressed (sped up slightly) to fit on one disc as it ran a little bit over 2 hours. I've never seen the movie on any other format though. _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |

I have never heard of this movie before. I looked it up online, but I can not find much information about it. It sounds like it is about music. Can any one describe it? What is it about? Also, I never knew that any CEDs had previews on them. _________________ RADIO CORPORATION OF AMERICA

it's an un-narrated film based on the score of the famous musical piece by an avant-garde/experimental composer named Philip Glass...search for him, especially on You Tube and it will probably get you to scratch your head a few times.
Glass is a legend. |

It's extremely hypnotic- like Fantasia, it's something you can just watch and space out. Don't go looking for any plot or anything like that. The other 2 didn't do as much for me, but will have to get the Blu-Ray set. _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |
