So way back when, I put an ad in my local "WANTED" ads regarding CED players and discs. Yesterday I received an email from a couple who told me they had cleared out an attic of one of their tenants who had been evicted over a year ago and had a large assortment of what I was looking for. I went up today and for $100........I picked up 210 CED titles and a working SFT 100 player! Also a mint condition service manual for the player as well as a magazine listing the player for sale at a price of $499.99........yikes! Forgot what these things cost back in the day. I am pretty happy about my luck. One issue I cannot figure out though: The player works great EXCEPT:
When I load a disc......the player only plays when the lever is in the OFF position??? When I put the lever to PLAY.........the indicator shows the "L" or LOAD signal. Any idea whats up with that anyone?
Cheers

mine does that too, but there are different reasons that could be happening, the light switch operates 2 cam lobes, and if they are misaligned they wont close the contacts on the toggle switches, or the switch itself is bad, a good way to test it is to take the cover off and look at the switches run off the function lever via the 2 cams and manually press the switches, you might need a small tool to push them up, if the player doesnt shut off the switch might be bad, i havent had a chance to mess with my sft100 yet... it has a compound problem _________________ Sears 274 & 934(80150,10&11350),sft100,sgt250,sjt090,100,101,200,300,400,vp550, VP4000!
