i hate it when people play games with me, besides it being wet inside the caddy, and the felts both smelled like simple green on top of the disc being pitted and otherwise ruined. i would not consider this anywhere brand new!
it even said "bad" in sharpie, but it was clearly wiped off! which is how i think cleanser got inside the caddy and ruined the felts!

A Corporate Attorney friend who works for a Technology company passed the following note on to me;
NEW for a manufactured item ( Such as a Consumer Electronic item) is defined as : OF RECENT ORIGIN OR MANUFACTURE.
The item has not been used, and parts and service and/or software support are available from the manufacturer.
BRAND NEW - The same as new and that the MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY is Still valid.
My note: No CED item is NEW but rather vintage or obselete.
Unused CED items and parts that are known to be working are best described as UOS ( Unused Original Stock ). |

| That's a major bummer Tony. I sure hope his personal one is in better condition. I can tell how pissed you are just by how long it must have took you to take all those pictures and add all the arrows and stuff. I hate people to try to scam other on facebook. You should wait until you get the new one and leave him negative feedback anyways. |

well the thing about it is i was only offered 10% of my money back because 90% went to charity, or i accept a replacement disc... the guy only lives 25 min from me, if he had just looked at it before sending it he would have seen the condition it was really in, i almost drove there in person to show him how ruined it was. if it was advertised as used or "bad" i most likely wouldnt have bought it... i was under the impression it was "brand new" so i had to take detailed pics and stuff to prove my case

| I surprised you had the patience to wait for him to mail it when he lives so close. I would have drove over there immediately to pick it up in the first place. So once you get your good copy what are your plans for this one. If it's for sale I'd love to buy it. Even in the condition it's in. Thanks. |

honestly josh, some of the pits are so deep, it would snag a stylus right off, i suppose it could still be played, but youd prolly wanna pre advance the stylus... in its condition its pretty much worthless i wanted to try to glue the felts back in but whatever cleanser was used it was strong...

the other thing i forgot was he said he also had a disc without a white caddy that he would give me, and i didnt understand what he meant at first, but he said he had just the disc with no caddy that he would give me too, and i can pretty much guarantee that its destroyed...

| I wouldn't really be looking to watch it. Just to own it is all I really care about. I know for a fact a lot of discs in my collection play like junk but they are physically there and once I get all the discs I will start looking for better copies or if I know a disc is junk and I come across one I will pick it up. If you want to sell it I would buy it or even trade you discs for it. Let me know. Thanks. |

He sold the disc to a member of CED Magic Forums, CED Magic is one of the first things in a search for CED or Selectavision and yet couldn't bother to read it and discover the errors he was making?
Even though most sellers beg you not to give them negative feedback without seeking a remedy from them first and even if you do get a suitable replacement it seems OBVIOUS that from the 'disc without a caddy' comment your seller has absolutely no clue that they are NOT SPECIAL LASERDISCS or else even how they work.
Whatever you do you must communicate that the seller has exhibited a lack of real knowledge about his sale product and needs to learn...
at the least they need to read the entire site, main and forums.
Others must be saved from the perils of ignorance and educating him would help but it's your call.

i tried to pass the best info i could, but i can tell english was not his first language...
