Don't you love it when people over price the discs? I messaged one member about over pricing and this is how it went.

Exact quoting-

Me:
I've been collecting CEDs for some time and the normal price collectors
notice and see as reasonable considering this format is faulty. Is normally
in the range of between one dollar to five dollars per movie. If you marked it within what the collector's community sees as average pricing I'll buy this disc. You can confirm this pricing standard with fellow collectors if you like. I'll provide a link relaying you if you want. We see high pricing as a joke with this format but will always buy given if the disc is in good shape and the price fits in the standard norm.

Seller:
then I guess you can see me as a joke I have sold tons of these not that is your concern, I will not tell you how to run your business and you don't tell me how to run mine fair enough?????????? (I've censored the user name that followed)

------------
Sorry for the odd formatting, I'm not sure how to correct it in edit.

There are some great ebay sellers and then there is that kind. They don't care, they think its that price and they will keep it that price. When they don't sell it in 3 months message back and laugh!

Yeah, that's the best thing to do. You never get a good response when suggesting things to ebay sellers. They tend to get defensive and tell you to ####-off usually.

This recently happened to me. A fellow was selling the Ann Murray's Best LP for $3.95 or best offer. He's already refused an offer. I made what I thought was a fair offer of $3.50 and he refused, then upped the price of the LP to $5.00

So I complained about that and told him I thought that was a lousy thing to do, since he did allow best offers, and he responded with a bunch of foul language about how much a jerk I was for offering just $2.00

He got me confused with the first offer, and when I noted that, he still called me foul names for bringing it to his attention. Well, I bought the LP elsewhere and made sure he knew that too.

There are some jerks out there but there are some sellers who generally have no idea how much they are really worth so they will pull a number out of thin air. When I found the Disney Disc of Mystery and Magic complete in box I think he had it listed for like $120 but had a best offer option as well. I made an offer of $40 I think and explained to him that I have been a collector for quite some time and think that my offer is reasonable given the title and quality the disc was in. He responded and said that he thought that would be fair as he had no idea what it was really worth. He went on to tell me he had purchased a large lot of them at an estate sale for dirt cheap and thought they were laserdiscs when he was buying them. He sent me a list and had some very good titles including the super rare unreleased Savage Streets that I now own. I picked out about 2 dozen titles and made him and offer. He looked most of them up on ebay using completed auctions and made me a counter offer which I accepted and we were both pleased. So it doesn't hurt to say something to those sellers asking outrageous prices because some of them really don't understand and who knows you might find some other great titles they haven't listed yet.

Yes, I should amend my comment from "never" to "almost never". Not wise to use such absolutes when discussing variable situations.

I think your incident is more unusual than typical. Plus you had an interest in buying the item, and went through the best offer option, which makes a difference.

I probably had only one seller thank me for bringing an overpriced item to their attention, and dozens that either told me it wasn't any of my business or to get lost, but in less nice terms.

Hi Josh

Can you please post a picture of Savage Streets? It’s one of my favorite cult movies and I have never seen what the CED looks like.

Thanks.

Hi Josh

Thanks for posting. It looks the same as the laserdisc I have and that's what I thought it would look like.
