|

There are currently a pair of SKT 090's on eBay listed in the last day or so, each states to have an issue and are sold as is. Neither on is outside of my comfort zone as far as money for purchase it is more the idea of trying to fix something or the unknown when buying an as is anything..

The above player is listed as powering up but the door won't open on the unit to accept discs.

And this player is listed as powering up but when a disc was inserted it wouldn't accept the disc and just hummed.
I currently have a SFT 100w and a SGT 075w (graciously provided by Rixrex) on the way. I am interested in getting more players of the models I don't already have, I would be happy to buy either one. Any suggestions or is it just a crap shoot with my money? I have discovered two nice large flea markets in my area of South Carolina that have vendors looking at bringing in their CED's if I am really willing to buy..no word on players so far just discs. I picked up a few more over the weekend and put out feelers for more but atleast at these markets I can look before I leap.
Thanks

honestly, most of the time i have heard of people getting non working players ( including myself ) it is just a bad belt, they are generally 2 dollars a piece, and are fairly easy to replace, if the description is door wont open or something that i know is belt operated id take a chance, but if the turntable isnt belt operated and it states the the disc wont spin, then id pass unless i needed a different part... _________________ Sears 274 & 934(80150,10&11350),sft100,sgt250,sjt090,100,101,200,300,400,vp550, VP4000!

I sent an email to get more detailed info on that player that accepts disc and supposedly only hums.
You know, that hum could be a defective turntable motor, but it could also be the turntable actually spinning, but there is no picture or LED display because the stylus is worn out.
So I told the guy how to check it, and he's supposed to get back later today.
However, I personally think the SGT 200 I posted about is a better deal. |

One of the 90's has already has the buy it now option exercised, Ty for the assist I'll keep my eye on that other 90 and there is another 100w right here in my neck of the woods. Seller is in N. Carolina and shipping is nothing to charleston. I hope you get the 200 sounds like you'll enjoy it and enjoyment is the name of the game.
