so farting around on craigslist looking for something totally different i found a post not 1 hour after it was posted in long island and it had this in it! i have been looking everywhere for this!
here is the haul in my trunk and it came with 3 cello titles one of which i was just looking for, sweet!
it also came with this broken sft100 which says L in the off position
its from october 81!
damn thing even had a new stylus in it!
these are the titles that im going to keep, there are a lot of dupes that are in a lot nicer condition than my current ones so ill swap them out then post the discs i dont want in another box in my for sale topic
lol
funny thing is, when i got home i noticed my odometer and my oil change reminder said the same thing lol. it was a 220 mile round trip, and damn did it suck!

i just noticed, this player is labeled as an sft100w
but if you look at the front of the player it has the faceplate of an sgt100, if it was an sft 100 it would have the nipper on it... weird!

well im not sure what to say about this unit, it looks like it was taken care of
it is an sft100w though
everything looks all right
even the turntable belt seems good (albeit a little slackish)
the cam function seems to work although the player won't turn off
off
play
load/unload
this doesn't really give me a warm and fuzzy though
here is a quick video

Spliced cord isn't so bad as long as there's no shorting out.
It looks like you have your function lever cams misaligned here on this player. See this topic:
http://www.cedmagic.com/tech-info/repair-solutions.html#misaligned-function-lever-cams
Also, you can take your old belts off and leave them overnight in 100% pure ammnia. They will shrink slightly and fit better when returned to the player. While doing that, clean up under the turntable best you can.
Not my idea, but a tip from CEDatum, and it really works. |

i dont understand why it wont go fully into the load position even though it lets me load a disc. there are 3 detents for each switch position and it wont catch the load detent. i manually manipulated the switches that are functioned by the cam and the player still wont turn off... _________________ Sears 274 & 934(80150,10&11350),sft100,sgt250,sjt090,100,101,200,300,400,vp550, VP4000!

Are you manipulating the same switches controlled by the two small cams? They are microswitches and a little tough to get to.
They do work in conjunction with each other. If the player isn't turning off when the cams that push the switches are in proper position, then one of the switches may be bad. |
