Here on this web site, I was wondering if any one can explain the difference between CEDs listed as "common" & "uncommon." I can not really tell what the distinction is between the 2 ratings.

It is as it says. One is more common than the other based on Tom's findings. Whether it was how many were pressed or how many have been seen. Jane fonda's workout and blue thunder are examples of common titles. It was like they gave away one with each player sale!

You have to look at it this way. If you bought 100 discs and 40 discs were On Golden Pond, that one would be common, another 30 discs are Ghostbusters so that one would be uncommon, another 20 discs are The Betsy making that one rare, then 8 are Lords of the Ring making that one very rare, and finally 2 are WWII discs that are extremely rare. So basically if your looking for a copy of On Golden Pond it will be easy to find and cheap but if your trying to find a World War II disc it will be extremely hard to find and probably really expensive but they are out there. Does that make it more clear.

Keep in mind that all those ratings are just suggestions by Tom Howe on how common or rare the discs are. Chance is everything, you might get 20 rare discs in the first lot of 100 you buy then the next lot of 300 might have 2. It's all chance and luck.
