|
|
Hello all. I recently acquired an SJT400. It needs some work. The major problem is the power on/off button seems to be stuck. The only way to get it on is to plug it in. Once I do that, I can get it to function. Can anyone give me an idea of how to get it loose? Also, will any of the other "J" models power buttons fit this one?
Thanks,
scott |

That's not uncommon for that button to get stuck that way. As a push toggle, it has an internal spring-loaded catch that is supposed to release upon push-in to turn OFF and recatch on the next push-in for ON.
Sometimes tapping them helps, and sometimes a person with ability can take it apart to clear up why the spring won't release the catch. Another option is to install a separate power button or small toggle in a place where it can be connected to the hot wire, either at the back where the power cord enters or near the front, just under the right side edge so it can be hidden, and connected to the hot wire of the main switch.
All SJT/SKT players use the same switch and it can be replaced with a small amount of work and soldering. |

I get players like this more often then you would think, but due to bad packaging. It looks like someone kicked the front of the box and that in turn goes into the poorly padded player which then makes the power button stick on if your lucky haha. 4 times now, even when I ask for good packaging, explain how and even show a video..... it still happens hahah Cedatum can find a power switch that is not from rca but those only fit in models that do not have the infrared remote module?. A different mounting bracket is used when the remote module is present, that cant fit the non rca power switch. They sometimes have working power switches from parts players for sale. Finally, Yes a power switch from an sjt-090 should work just fine on an sjt-400! _________________ I dont own
