Thanks Tom...it's really a great light. I don't know how (or howe) you come up with these really great ideas every year. It's one of the very few surprises I have at Christmas, my wife says my reaction is always like a kid getting a surprise gift. Have a wonderful new year.

Well Tom, This is the first year I've gotten a gift from you as I just bought the CED CD a few months ago. I've only been collecting since November 2011. I've been mostly trying to buy big lots on craigslist and wherever I can find them. I'm trying to get every disc in your database. So far I've only got about 600 to go, and I've got about 200 of those lined up already. I did a little research on the site into your question about weather anyone had all ten gifts just cause I was curious what they were. Here's what I came up with,

Good research on the holiday items! This actually started in 2002 with a holiday postcard, but the first real item was this RGB light pen in 2003 celebrating the 50th anniversary of color television:

The 2009 item was a solar-panel-charged pocket lamp in a choice of six colors.

Cool Pen Tom, thanks for the info. I only wish I had known about CED sooner or I would have been here. I was shocked when I first discovered a record that plays video. It blew my mind and I am still a little dumbfounded about it and amazed at how good it actually works. They certainly did their homework on that one, too bad it never caught on. I still have the LED pen I received from Tom (in 2001?). I rediscovered it last year and installed a fresh set of batteries. Unfortunately the pen itself has dried up or something because I can't write with it anymore. Has anyone any suggestions on how to rejuvenate this bad boy?

I tried my old pen, and it did write again with the original cartridge after some scribbling. The light pen uses a standard D1 refill 66mm in length and 2.3mm in diameter. These are available at office supply stores and on eBay:
