Thank you to Charlie and his pulley modification!!!

Toshiba 550

I used revenge of the nerds to test this and it happens upon the we've got bush part. SO if that's not your thing only watch first part of video. You can see me basically say uh oh when it happens cause I knew some people on these forums would rather not see that stuff! I like it, but some don't, so here is your warning!!!!

I really like the ELMO player. It looks very modern with its black finish which matches almost all of today's equipment.

Very impressive! I have never seen either of those CED players before. Did they have any problems when you got them? What kind of maintenance did they need?

They both needed all new belts. The 550 needs the metal pulley and the elmo was able to use a charlie pulley!

The elmo is a little loud while spinning but I assume its a bit of belt reside from the old belt.

Th toshiba plays and played ok, but now has troubles with skipping, haven't tried anymore with it, busy, and had players to sell which take priority over my players. it also has a kind of wavy video. Luckily I have actually gotten two more 550's so we will see what one is best!!!

Wow Ryan, the Toshiba 550 looks great. Was that the one I traded you in the video or is mine one of the other two you refer to? Lets see a video of the remote in action! Also I have a Sears 934.54800250 but it is my favorite player and it would be hard to part with it. I don't have the remote for it, I still don't know if Sears ever made one for this machine or if you had to use the Hitachi or Realistic remote. I do have a dust cover for it that I got with it and it fits as if it was made for it. Not sure if Sears sold dust covers for these units or if some company made them or even if it's just generic for any a/v equiptment but they way it is designed it fits like a glove. As for the SJT425 I think you might have that one on your list for a long long time, lol.

I seriously haven't got to that player yet josh Sad I got busy with other players I was selling. I got the belts but I have to send the pulley out to charlie! I can show you video of the remote in action when I do fix it!

As stupid as it sounds I would easily drop 500 on an skt-425. I wonder if the pic tom has is of one he owns?

Tom does own that SKT-425, I had heard that the guy he bought it from had rescued it out of the dumpster behind the plant when everything shut down. It is most likley the only one still in existence. If another one does exist I think it would easily fetch over $1,000 or more. It is a prototype and only a handful were ever made, probably ended up in the same dumpster and the one that the guy grabbed is the only one that didn't get destroyed. Apparently they threw nearly everything out after the shut down, including production papers and everything, so there is no way of knowing how many of each title was ever produced, or what titles were destroyed, etc. If only we had a time machine to go back and bribe the garbage man.
