Hi, anyone interested in taking 2 CED players and a couple of boxes of discs, please let me know, otherwise i have to take them to the tip.
The discs and players are unusual but of historical rather than practical use. They are branded Thorn EMI "VHD", made by JVC. Models 3D00 and 3D01. They are in working condition with remote controls. The discs are in mixed condition. They are videojukebox discs from the mid 80's, each with 15 tracks on it. After the home retail market for these players failed, EMI marketed a combination of 3 x 3D01 players and a BBC Micro as a jukebox to be used in pubs. Even this was short lived, and i got these as they were being disposed from the old factory in Swindon (UK). The players are modifed for some test pusposes (?) and some of the discs are test pressings.
I cannot realistically post these, as the players and discs are very heavy.
cheers

I will pay for the players to be shipped or one of them! The disc's like you said are too much. I have had a few heavy things shipped from the uk, so if you don't want to trash the players... like I said I will pay for the shipping. _________________ I dont own

Fury, if you get the players, you should get the discs too, or at least some of them.
The VHD format discs are not compatible with CEDs, and are quite different except for the basic operation of the player in loading the disc and the fact that it's a capacitance variance system.
Read this for a brief description of the format:

Fury,
so are you interested in one or both players, and what about discs? The discs are Video Jukebox ones. It depends if you want them as museum pieces or working kit really. Where are you based? I guess they are 10kg each. A really quick check on the first Google hit is showing me about 100 bucks for 10kg to the USA.
cheers

Hi Chris
I guess this is a bit too late but do you still have either of these machines? I am in London and very interested in the VHD system.
Thanks
