Has anyone ever had a needle that stops regular tracking and starts jumping around causing the picture to jump around. It happens usually once per side during regular play. Usually between 30 to 45 minutes in. A new needle has not helped. Hitting forward and reverse sometimes helps. Any info would help. The player is a Sears 934.54810350.

i am having a similar issue with me sears player, i think its a bad connection at the stylus arm itself, mine only started doing it after i moved it, then it got okay, some time later i moved it to another room and it got worse, sometimes you have to bump ffwd to get it to start playing again, i have gotten it to play whole movies flawlessly without messing with it... so im thinking its some sort of bad connection

That sounds exactly like what my player is doing. Thanks for info. I'll look into it and see what I find. Other than that it's a decent player. Thanks again.

Checked all connections and I could not find any loose ones. I did tighten and clean the player and it seems to be working better. It was stored for many years so maybe it just needs some use.
