|

Here's a Sears player made by RCA (Clone of the SFT/SGT 100):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SEARS-CED-video-disk-player-/160864382692?pt=US_Movies_Other_Formats&hash=item257443aee4
A little uncommon, and was a temporary solution to the lack of available Hitachi players at the time Sears rolled out the CED system in their stores.
I remember seeing only one other ever in my whole life, and I saw dozens if not hundresds of CED players when Dad worked at RCA and later at his repair shop.
Fury, if you decide to bid on it for your collection, let us here know so we won't cramp your bids. |

Thank you for thinking about me rix! I would bid but I already have one in the box that I bought from flint, around when I first started... in fact I posted pics of it here, so I am good and wont bid, but I did consider! Its definitely a steal at the moment compared to when they first posted it!!

If you've done the remote control installation on the Sears 5474 player, the woodgrain on the Starplex controller is a pretty close match to that found on the player cabinet top.

I have done the controller mod and I remember looking for remotes and I could never find the starplex but I would loove to have one!
This is what I went with because of box and price! The Akklaim dual turbo

| I have a Realistic player from Radio Shack, it has a manual, and a wired remote, it is very very cool. I have the Hitachi player and it works on it too. So don't give up, they are out there!!! |

Someone on here posted a picture of a remote they had found that said Sears on it but it was not for the 934 model players but rather it matched the Sanyo remote. It is the correct remote that you are looking for. Apparently it is more rare than the player. Had I know this was the Sanyo Model Sears Player on ebay I probably would have tried to win it. I did see it but passed it by not thinking. Anywho hope that helps.

I also want to add reguarding the video game remotes. You guys are ruining vintage video game remotes many of which are worth more than the player you are trying to control with them. You wouldn't take a CED Remote and hack it up to use on your video game so don't do the opposite. If you really want a wired remote to use find one from an old VCR or Camcorder at least that way it looks like it matches. |

That's the beauty of this... no remotes are being harmed!! They are still plugging into a 9 pin adapter that does not hurt them! I promise you!
The instructions here provide a 9-pin D-subminiature male socket on the player. Any joystick or controller with a 9-pin D-subminiature female plug can simply be plugged in and removed at will with no desoldering/soldering required.

I go along with the idea of not wrecking remotes that have value as original items for whatever device they are needed. But it seems like that wasn't done anyway.
But anyway, has anyone ever tried adapting a VCR wired remote for use with a CED player? |

| Sounds Great, that looks very nice. Course you could just get an SGT-250 and not have to deal with all that hassle of wiring in a remote, etc. But it looks like fun. |
