I know it is a CED collectors/guru sin to stack CEDS one on top of the other but I have seen someones picture stacking them about 6 high on the RCA page on facebook to save space.Does any one know how many you can safely stack on top of each other without warping or scratching. Since I may have to do the same in the future to save space or if they don't fit in a car if I find the mother load or anywhere else for that matter. How many can you get away with b4 you get stackings undesired results and consequences?

Well, each disc weighs 1.5 lbs, So, that means 10 of them is 15lbs, the bottom one is getting 15lbs of weight on it. I don't think laying 6 on each other will hurt them, but the key word, is you don't want to STORE them that way, Every one of the manuals that comes with the players warn about stacking them flat. Even the laser discs say to store vertically. I have bought them that have been stacked flat, i was lucky and 50% of my were still playable. Stand those babies on their edge!!!

Yeah I bet the best ones were on the bottom too. I stack mine horozontally. What is wrong with standing them upward like records?I noticed you said lay them one the side edge?

I'm sorry Louis, I meant standing them on their edge just like records. That is how they were meant to be stored.

*IF* the discs are perfectly stacked- the edges would be directly on top of each other and would have minimal sag in the middle. Short term I think would be fine, but ya it makes you cringe when you see pics posted up showing a 'tossed in the pile' look.
