I was chomping through some old Siskel and Ebert TV Special about Star Wars and ROTJ when I spotted this excellent promo for RCA CED focusing on stereo sound. I thought some folks here might be interested so I converted it to quicktime and posted it on my website:

I just love these old television commercials, really great stuff.

Thanks for putting up that SGT250 commercial; I'll add it to the television appearances page soon with the promo for pulsingcinema.com at the end.

Another commercial I'm trying to find is the 1983 Flashdance-inspired one for the stereo "J" players as well as the free VideoDisc six-packs included with the players:

The Paul McCartney Rockshow disc included in the six-pack is unusual in having a black & white front picture instead of the colored picture used on the stand-alone disc.

This commercial won an industry award and appears on a compilation tape that can be viewed at The Museum of Television & Radio in New York City, but they don't have any facilities for capturing the video. In a humorous spoof included on the Aloha Conference CED's, portions of the commercial were intercut with Conference participants. These discs were the subject of the last Featured CED:
