CED VideoDisc and Player Discussion

Hello CED community,

I am looking to repair my RCA SGT 200. Recently when I was pulling out a CED, it became stuck. I had tugged on it a bit the disc cracked and the white plastic got caught in the player on the way out. I had to pull it out. Now when I go to play a CED, it will not play. The disc loads fine, it starts spinning but then it won't actually play the disc even as it's spinning still. The display reads "- -". The actual machine machine appears to work fine (display reads fine, spins disc, loads good) so i'm curious what I messed up when this disc became caught.

If you could offer any help and maybe what you think it could be, it would be most appreciated. Also, I live in Boston so if anyone is in Massachusetts feel free to email me if you can fix it. This machine means a lot to me so although the easy answer would be to "buy another one" (which I will probably do regardless), I'm looking to fix this.

I kind of feel bad introducing myself to the community this way but I broke my player testing CEDs for the catalog I was building. I will be posting that in the sticky in hopes of being able to contribute something or trades.

You might have damaged the stylus. That's the first thing to check, try another known working stylus to see if that's the trouble.
