|
|
My SJT400 has been failing to take the disc when it goes in. It takes the caddy in, but there isn't a click and it spits the whole thing back out. This doesn't happen every time, some time it is just fine. I give it a little push once in a while, that is until the disc got hung up in the player. Deanjeep said to check the loading belt, I did, it was really loose. Unfortunately it didn't help. What is the next step? Do I change the loading motor? Any advice? _________________ 1000 titles

So did you put on a new belt? If not, do so.
But if you did, you may need to clean up both the pulley grooves where the belt goes, since they could be a little slick, and also the rubber rollers that grab the caddy on each side to pull it in and push it out. |

I did change the belt, it was much tighter than the one that was on it. I will check the pulleys, and the "grabbers." Is it possible the load motor could be causing this? _________________ 1000 titles

Yes, it's possible, but check on the other stuff first, and observe it with top off to see if you notice significant strain on the motor.
Was the belt you got correct? Usually they are not terribly tight, and if too tight that may not be good. Plus make sure it's not so thin that it gets stuck in the bottom of the groove and/or making the motor strain.
If the belt isn't quite right, a good substitute is an o-ring from your local auto parts or hardware store. It has to be 3/32 inch thick with inside diameter of not less than 1 & 1/8 inch nor larger than 1 & 3/16 inch. |

I have had this problem, I used two different belts on 2 players and one player hated both belts. So I changed out the function motor and bam good as new! _________________ I dont own

I watched it a few times, and I'm convinced it is the function motor. I think Tom sells them, so I will get one and see! I wonder if the motor from my SJT090 will fit the SJT400? I couild swap them out and check it. _________________ 1000 titles
