Several of the frequent contributors have Laser discs, VHS tapes, and other ancient formats. I am guessing that there might be the possibility of quite a long life for CED discs versus these other formats. A current interesting example in the audio world are shellac discs ,some of which are now 100 years old and still play OK. Any thoughts?
