I know there are a few CED adult releases such as the Playboy titles.
My question is for you other CED collectors: When collecting titles do you make these adult titles part of your quest or do you overlook them?
I currently don't have any of the adult titles released for CED and I currently don't have any plans to seek them out.
Just curious if I was in the minority on this, or if there are other collectors that avoid these selection of titles. _________________ My SJT400 keeps me warm MIDWINTER when the OSD board overheats!

If you are going for the complete 1700 set, you need to pick them up. If you just want to collect SF or Drama and you look at a collection that has adult titles mixed in- do you pass or do you buy it then sell the adult ones?
BTW- feel free to send me the Playboy and what not Actually the playboy I've watched was interesting and informative along with beautiful women, not a "jerk fest" _________________ Scott

I don't collect titles I wouldn't watch, so I'm not a 1700 set collector. I have one Playboy title that I just got in a lot that I probably will not keep. But since it's apparently not obnoxious, I'll probably take a look at it. I personally don't care but my wife would and she wouldn't like the grandkids to see it lying around. I do have a copy of Pumping Iron that made her laugh.

I currently don't have any of the adult titles or I would send them out.
I don't think I want my daughter when she is older to see the titles in my collection. I definitely want her to know that woman are worth more than just something to look at. Being a guy I don't fully understand self esteem issues and the "need" to look pretty so I would rather not inadvertently push her towards a thought process that makes her think she needs to be attractive for other men.
So in Pumping Iron does Arnold really smoke marijuana at the end? _________________ My SJT400 keeps me warm MIDWINTER when the OSD board overheats!

There was never any hardcore DELETED on CED- one of the reasons the format failed. The Playboy stuff is pretty tame, and it's some of the most dated stuff on the format as it talks about "today's" celebrities and stuff.
A lot of people don't realize this, but there really aren't any new adult MOVIES being made anymore. By the end of the 80s they had stopped producing 35mm film prints of them, instead releasing them straight to home video and many of them even shot on video. Remaining adult theaters used video projection systems when this happened. The old-style DELETED films remain a guilty pleasure for me, with the cheesy music and often ridiculous excuses for the characters to have sex. If you watch these just as you would a regular movie and are amused by bad acting and such, they're a lot of fun. (Interesting note about laserdiscs- Image Entertainment, who now releases Blu-Rays and DVDs, started out issuing DELETED movies on laserdisc, and one of the company's founders was in the DELETED business. The problem with many of the movies they released however was that many were cut for time in order for at least one side of the disc to be in CAV format.) _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |

I like the parody ones best, well they are all parodies of life, but a parody of box office hits. Watch the real movie then find an adult copy. _________________ Scott

| Why does the term p.o.r.n get marked deleted? Doesn't strike me as vulgar. |
