I have an SJT-090 player in pretty rough shape. It needs a stylus and a transfer coupling. If anyone would like parts or the entire player, please let me know via PM.

Hi Folks,
New to the forum and CED's. Just picked up a SGT100 from good will with 30 discs. The player has some issues that need to be worked through so thought I'd see if any one has any players for sale currently.

Describe the issues here and we can help you figure out how to repair it or find parts. These haven't been made since the mid 80s, there really aren't NOS new players out there. You'll have to learn to repair obsolete technology, even if it IS pretty incredible tech!

We have many talented members to guide you and Cedatum for some things like stylus repair and belts. CED players are probably not as complicated as they seem Smile

No, I already have that one. I also have the GEN10301 player and the DSA100 Stereo adapter for it. All I have to do is replace the turntable pulley and get the turntable belt, the loading belt and any other belts the player may need. I also forgot that I need the address of chertra2 so I can send the parts to him and get what I need back to fix the player.

Of all things, I cannot find chertra2's address in my e-mails. Does anyone have any idea what his address is?

You could very well be right. cbertra2 it is.

Howzit

Seeking recommendations on how much one should sell a new in box RCA SJT 400? Seems to me by just a cursory search of Net that a new one would indeed be a rare find.. In fact, I did not find one for sale in my search. So, any thoughts?

Thanks

Whoopdido!!!!! Another spammer has struck this forum. I thought it was Captain John Smith who was at the first colony in Virginia (I forgot the colony's name).

I always look at someone with a jaundiced eye when that someone claims to be self-professed.

Oh, well.

That makes you a lucky saint, Willie Very Happy

I always answer, I don't know, I'm CHEAP. But then again I have to budget a month or so ahead because I give Washington and Lincoln stretch marks.

I have an eBay search email set up for Selectavision but after I finally got it to stop sending me CD boomboxes all the hardware I get are the old VCRs lately, now and then a CED player.

Here is a disc listed on eBay you might like...

https://www.ebay.com/itm/333153508242

Don Kirschner Presents Rock Concert, Vol. 1 (I'll bet there was never a Vol. 2 though).

It's apparently still in shrink, just split at the edge. It's a mono title C.1981, early title and the seller says unplayed (they say).

Anyhow, it's about $20 Buy It Now and shipping. Have fun!

Folks,

I got back into collecting CEDs and then other things happened. I am letting these go for pretty cheap. Definitely less than I paid for them. All have been stored in good dry locations. I have tried to note in my lists if they were rentals (also my way of noting they were in not great shape). There are also about 150 duplicates that I have not listed that also go with the sale.

As far as the players are concerned: At least 3 of them work without problems. Probably more, but I cannot recall exactly. There are at least a dozen players all in various forms of working/non-working order. All are complete (well, there may be a few screws missing from the case lids). They run the gamut of manufacturers and models.

I live in Northern California near Sacramento. You will have come come pick them up.

I am asking $750 for all of it. There are some rarities in there. I will not part them out since I want to create an incentive for someone to come and get them! Wink

Here is the list: http://www.thebrewingacademy.net/CEDsale.zip

You can contact me here or macrorie@thebrewingacademy.com or marlin4@gmail.com

Ah, but I can't do that and I ride a BIKE. And I'm in eastern Oregon.

Somebody might, but the best option is probably to sell them locally, split them up on eBay or here and I gather that some of us who refuse to use Facebook are in that ragtag fleet of Battlestars led by Commander Adama now.

In case you haven't looked, there are a TONNE of CEDs on eBay, more Star Wars than National Geographics in the attic.

Patience, Luke, use the Force. You'll get there.

Here is a very big collection of CEDs for sale in San Bernardino, California, although from the looks of them in the pictures, they could possibly be damaged from being stacked & scattered all over the room:

Here is a vintage RCA Selectavision top loader VCR for sale in Los Angeles:

That's an early convertible VCR but it's also a science project compared to a CED player and more trouble than it's worth.

It uses a separate camera (usually hand held) with an EIAJ plug and there is no power supply shown or even mentioned for the docking recorder so it's likely that it ejects and loads but no indication if anything else works and it's from the early 1980s plus the drum may be bad (not likely to be replaced, VHS decks haven't been made in a few years now as not even Funai who made many of the OEMs in the end couldn't source them) and other parts might be NLA...read $$$ PIT.

Doc Brown's JVC camcorder was the death knell for this beast. I'm sure it was never used as anything but a regular mono 2-head VCR.

I used to have a handheld Panasonic camera unit. I never got to use it and the three full sized VHS camcorders I do have could do better.

Of course, if you DO, then this is apparently what you want.
