Hi all. If anyone here gets a SJT-100 for sale please PM me. I'd rather deal with members here than from the likes of ebay.

Hello out there!

I happened to find four discs dumped at a recycling center.. I picked them up because I didn't want them to get rained on. I didn't really know anything about this technology until today.

Anyway, I would be happy to give them away to anybody who would pay to ship them (I guess they are kind of heavy.. so it would probably cost a bit.. maybe you know how best to ship them?)

If not, do you have any suggestions as to what I should do with them? They seem to be in good condition, with a slight musty smell (not too bad.) I just didn't want them to end up in the trash.

The titles are:

- Agnes of God
- Burn!
- The Turning Point
- Back Roads

I'll check back so just let me know if you want them. I don't want anything in return just shipping & handling.

I recently purchase a large lot of CEDs and need to clear out some extras. Most of the disc are in fair to good condition with some wear and tear on the labels and cartridges and may need to be cleaned, while some are in better condition. They have not been tested so I cannot guarantee the they will play perfectly. For the most part I would consider them to be good for a novice or beginner collector. Shipping on large lots to be determined based on amount and weight.

All discs in the first 9 lots are $2.00 per disc plus shipping (click thumbnail for larger image)

All multiple part discs are $4.00 per set plus shipping (Note: Jesus of Nazareth is missing part 1)

All discs in the next 2 lots are $5.00 per disc plus shipping

All Bond single discs as well as the Rocky discs are $4.00 per disc plus shipping. All Bond double sets are $8.00 each plus shipping except for A View to a Kill which is $10.00 and Octopussy which is $1.00 due to a broken caddy.

And finally Playboy Vol. 1 $10.00 plus shipping

I live in Sweden, so if you are ok with that pls tell me what you can offer.
It would also be nice if you would have a replacement stylus as CED players never sold here in sweden.

You can use the SJT or SKT players there if you have a step down transformer. They will work on 50 cycles. Any other player will not.

I would ship players to Sweden, but right now I have only SJT 90 and SJT 100 available. I do have extra stylus for each. These players use RF output to channel 3 or 4 analog, and in NTSC format.

If anyone is interested there is a former RCA employee selling some CED's.

His name is Martin Royce and he was a chemical engineer at RCA from 53-87.

I purchased a dozen discs from him already and they are in mint or near mint condition. He wanted me to pass on the list in case anyone else was interested. I've been dealing with his wife Sherry, her email is sjroyce@gmail.com and you can contact her directly about purchasing discs. Mention my name, Josh Gibson, so she knows it's legit. She didn't know how much to charge for these so I priced this list for her. Please remember these discs are in mint to near mint condition and belonged to an RCA employee at the time of production. I felt these prices were reasonable but if anyone disagrees please discuss it with her as I have told her they were fair, she may want more or less it's her call. Also these prices do not reflect shipping which will be added. Thanks and let me know if you have any questions for me or you can email her directly about purchasing.

I have a Montgomery Ward CED player and 33 movie titles that I would like to sell, or give away, whichever the case may be.

I have not been able to get the player to work, but I don't know how fixable it is. Here are a couple of pics I found on the net that appear to show the identical player:

Is your player mono or stereo and can you locate the model information on the front or back ID tag?

Model # is GEN 10301

S/N 016732, manufactured July 1981

Not 100% sure about the mono vs stereo - there is a single RCA output for video, and a single RCA output for audio, which would lead me to believe that it is mono. However, there is an additional audio output that looks a little like an S-video connection, but a little bigger with 4 pins, which is labeled "stereo". I do not have a cable that fits it. Right below that is an input for a wired remote control, which I don't have either.

Do you have any interest at all in viewing the CEDs? It's not like your being asked to throw your life savings into a hobby but obsolete formats can be fun...remember that even COMPACT DISCS are becoming obsoleted and are supposed to be near the end of commercial production for new titles. I have several obsolete formats myself besides CED-laserdisc, Beta/SuperBeta...Video 8mm isn't totally dead yet but it's close, VHS/SVHS and on top of that I'm keeping reel to reel and cassette audio recording alive as well as 8-tracks and I have THREE CRT projectors from the 80s to 1995 (two Zeniths and a Sony). I still have and occasionally fire up my 1963 RCA Victor New Vista 19" B/W portable and I have an arsenal of 70s and 80s Trinitrons and a Hitachi CT-1342 with an aging gun.

I didn't spend a ton of moolah either because I gather I'm really CHEAP Smile Laughing and have hawk eyes for these things.

Our members would love to help you figure what is wrong with your player and see if it can be restored to operation, and remember that it's easier to sell/give away a working one (and get somebody else hooked) or find that you have a knack for fixing the player and besides that it would look right in place with any decent stereo gear as it's no slouch in the looks dept. Cool

Also, now that we know the model no, it's easier to figure what it might be equivalent to and who built it, all the better to fix it you know!

Since the topic of repair was brought up, as a new CED collector I am working on player 2, and already seeking player 3 of the next model type. But in the up keep of the players I am going to need belts and the occasional stylus, as I search is e-bay my only real option or are long time collectors pulling from different sources??

Like moving coil phono cartridges you can retip the stylus so do not toss them. We have members selling the occasional stylus and parts as well (the J/K DVD is one of us) and the prices are probably quite reasonable for 30+ year old NOS.

I did manage to get a few stylus from ebay just to give me a spare and one to fill in the player i pickud up from Rixrex (ty sir). It seams to me the people here are really very knowledgable and obviously really enjoy the collecting of the players and movies and passing it on to others; I would much rather give money to a member here than a random set of numbers off of eBay. What is an acceptanbe price point fo stuff like stylus or belts or heck even players....there's a person on ebay selling a player that they never tested for $300 because they called it vintage. If a player from the 80's is vintage..than I am the super classic collectors vintage retro edition.

I tend to think I'M vintage because my HS class of 1984 has 25+ year old kids in some cases...and we graduated 29 years ago.

Anyhow, the word 'vintage' has sorta morphed into a term meaning little other than it was made in the definitive era of the product, which is good to a POINT but meaningless almost for a product that was on the market about five or so years.

While the members of this site can ascertain what that could be (SGT 250 it seems is most favored to many here) the average Joe doesn't know them from laserdiscs anymore and sellers who've never encontered one get confused often.

Does vintage MD 20/20 exist? Probably not...it's gone with the wino, so to speak and that's the period on the sentence.

Hey All-

I haven't posted in a while. But I have been keeping up. Smile

I have decided to sell part of my collection.

So if anyone is interested in picking it up in Missouri(Fort Leonard Wood).

Give me a shout.

There are about four players
A Hitachi
A Sears
And a couple of RCA 100s
Also a RCA 200 with issues.

Roughly about 500 CEDs as well.

I know its a shot in the dark, but if anybody wants to make a road trip.
I'm asking $300 for all of it.

If your interested, I also have about 500 LDs for sale as well.
$300 for those as well.

Happy August
Thanks
Chris

There are no PMs on this board so you need to provide an email address we can contact you at (phone number not advisable).

As to either format I am primarily interested in concerts/music video/strong music related titles.
