CED VideoDisc and Player Discussion

So I've got about 100 movies to dispose of, as well as a player. The player needs a new needle and I might be able to find a remote as well.

Is there any interest in this? Otherwise, it has to go to landfill - which is a shame, because there's a lot of memories there.

I'll pull out the model no and take pictures as soon as I can. I'm in southwestern Ontario.

Well, I'd like to get a little money for them, but I won't insist on a lot.

I've got star wars, star trek, dune, pink panther, porky's, james bonds, a couple select-your-own-adventure programmable murder mysteries, a few playboys/penthouses, murder by death - that one was soo funny and one of my all time favourites, blazing saddles... this is just by memory.

As for the condition, they're not in new condition by any means, the adhesive on the labels has bubbled somewhat and they smell a little musty.

as for how playable they are, well I can't tell - my player doesn't have a needle so I can't guarantee anything. I can pop a few open and take a peek.

Sorry about the delay...

So I finally got the discs pulled out and into the garage. I have about 200 CEDs (rough count though) which includes a couple box sets and 2 murder mystery discs (one is missing the sheet though. I'll check to see if the info is on the back of the disc.)

again, they're not in the best condition - maybe a little musty smelling, labels are typically bubbly and the boxes for the box sets are falling apart.

I don't have the model number handy, as there's more digging to do.

It looks like this pic I found though.

and the remote (still don't know if I can find that) looks like this

except it's silver and used to have a removable cover on the left hand side.

The player was programmable for the murder mystery discs.
